COVID-19 Guidelines

To ensure that the tournament can proceed with as little impact from the ongoing pandemic as possible, the following guidelines will be in place at the 2022 Wheelchair Rugby World Championship.

Since 4 July 2022, there have been no restrictions in place for travelling to Denmark. In general, COVID-19 restrictions no longer apply in Denmark, and COVID-19 is no longer considered a disease that is a critical threat to society. However, in order to keep everyone safe, in respect for countries that still have restrictions, a COVID-19 Mitigation Plan has been developed by WWR, Sport Event Denmark, the National Health Authorities in Danmark, the Health Care System of Vejle and Parasport Denmark.

Before travelling to Denmark
All *participants in the 2022 Wheelchair Rugby World Championship are required to be fully vaccinated and have proof of vaccination, which should be uploaded with your Declaration of Compliance. It is strongly recommended that all participants have booster vaccinations where available.

It is recommended that all participants limit their social activities prior to travelling to Denmark. All participants must perform an antigen test 24-48 hours prior to their departure. Self-administered tests are accepted. Proof of tests will be requested on arrival. Photo or photocopy of a test will be accepted as a proof. Officials will be reimbursed of the costs in connection with their tests prior to departure.

If a participant has a positive test, this test must be five days old or more on the departure date, and he must be without symptoms before travelling to Denmark. In this case proof of the positive test will be requested on arrival.

* Participants refers to athletes, team staff, officials, classifiers, WWR board and committee members and event staff.

On arrival
We kindly ask officials, classifiers, WWR board and committee members and the team manager of each team, to bring proof of negative antigen tests or positive test result as mentioned above for the whole team when picking up accreditation cards at the front office of the venue.

All participants will get home test kits that they should use 48 hours after arrival. Results must be reported back to the LOC Event office. We kindly ask all team managers to report back for the whole team.

Transportation
Where possible, teams will be transported individually.

Recommendations during your stay
To avoid infection, we highly recommend that all participants limit activities outside the venue and their hotel. There will be spectators to all games. Therefore, we recommend that participants use masks or do not socialize with the spectators.

Protective Equipment
In Denmark, it is no longer mandatory to use any protective equipment: Rules and regulations (coronasmitte.dk).

However, face masks and/or gloves will be provided for teams that prefer to use it. Please inform the Local Organizing Committee of your request in advance by sending an email to: lgu@parasport.dk. We will then ensure that your equipment is available for your team on arrival.

Hand sanitizer will be available both in hotels and at the venue.

In the mixed zone, face masks will be available for the contact between players and media.

Meals
We kindly ask all participants to respect a social distance at buffets and in lines. Gloves will be provided for all meals.
